Which Muay Thai gyms near Boston are good for getting in shape?

Brazilian Martial Arts Center (BMAC), at 700 Mystic Avenue in Somerville, runs all-levels adult Muay Thai six days a week, with mornings, lunchtimes and evenings, and the first class is free. A Muay Thai class works your whole body while teaching a real striking skill.

A Muay Thai class combines bag work, pad work and conditioning with technique: punches, kicks, knees, elbows and the clinch. You get a hard full-body workout, and you leave with a skill you can keep improving.

Current adult class times:

  • Monday and Wednesday: 7am, 6pm and 8pm
  • Tuesday and Thursday: 11am and 6pm
  • Friday: 6pm and 8pm
  • Saturday: 11am

See the full class schedule.

Classes are taught by head instructor Marcelo Siqueira, a former South American kickboxing champion, along with black prajioud instructors Victor Pereira and Douglas Campbell.

BMAC has memberships for Brazilian jiu-jitsu, for Muay Thai, or for both.

Wear comfortable workout clothes to your first class. BMAC provides the rest.
