The basic offensive techniques in Muay Thai use fists, elbows, shins, feet, and knees to strike the opponent. Unlike many other martial arts, Muay Thai is specifically designed to promote a level of fitness and toughness required for ring fighters. Muay Thai instructor Marcelo Siqueira first began training Muay Thai in 1988 under world famous instructor Master Rudimar Fredrigo, at top-ranked Chute Boxe Academy in Curtiba, Brazil. He later became a Brazilian kickboxing champion in the mid-90s and still continues to train with the Chute Boxe team in Curtiba every year. Marcelo teaches a Brazilian modified form of Muay Thai that has been proven effective the world over in mixed martial arts competition.
